Warning! These 5 Snacks are Made Out of Petroleum-Based, Cancer-Causing Chemicals!

Snacks that are marketed for kids may contain anything from petroleum-based products to artificial, cancer-causing colors. In addition, petroleum is, without a doubt, the same ingredient that’s used to make up gas and oil. The most frequently used food dyes, like Red 40 and Yellow 5 are made from petroleum. Moreover, they may contribute to serious health issues. According to the FDA (the Federal Food and Drug Administration,), the ingestion of these ingredients may lead to various health issues.

They have been associated with a variety of health issues, including hyperactivity in kids, allergic reactions, and cancer (in animal studies). Artificial food colors have been associated with hives, chromosomal damage, ADD/ADHD, increased risky behavior, sleep disturbances, hyperactivity, mood swings, eczema, diabetes, asthma, obesity, hypersensitivity, headaches, ear infections, bed-wetting, and hypoglycemia.

The truth is that these ingredients are very toxic so that the European Union and the British government have ended dye use in Europe.

Here Are Five Popular Snacks That Contain Cancer-Causing Ingredients:

– M&M’s
They’re colorful chocolate candies that contain artificial, harmful colors. The most commonly used colors include Yellow 5 (may result in ADHD, unexplainable itchy skin, purple spots on the skin, blurred vision, clinical depression, anxiety, migraines, asthma, and thyroid cancer); Blue 1 (may lead to the formation of malignant tumors); Blue 2 (a petroleum-based product that may elevate hyperactivity in kids and cause brain tumor in lab rats); Yellow 6 (may contribute to cancer); and Red 40 (may trigger DNA damage). All these artificial food dyes are actually petroleum-based products and are associated with hyperactivity, allergic reactions, and even cancer.

– Teddy grams
Teddy grams can be found in five different flavors. They contain TBHQ, which’s a toxic ingredient that may result in ringing in the ear, vomiting, nausea, collapse, and delirium. This ingredient has been linked to DNA and lung damage. It has also been found to trigger stomach cancer in lab rats. In kids, it may result in restlessness, anxiety, and intensify ADHD symptoms.

– Fruit snacks
Fruit snacks come in multiple “fruit” flavors. They possess harmful, artificial colors and additives. They also contain Erythrosine (Red 3) that’s an artificial cherry-pink (red) food coloring made from coal tar. A study carried out in 1990 found that “chronic Red 3 ingestion could trigger the formation of thyroid tumor in rats.

In 1990 the Food and Drug Administration had instituted a partial ban on Red 3, citing research that high amounts of this artificial color have been shown to induce cancer in rats. In 2008, the CSPI (the Center for Science in the Public Interest) petitioned the Food and Drug Administration for a total ban on Red 3 in the U.S.

– Pop tarts
They were first introduced in 1964. They contain cancer-causing artificial colors. The Frosted Strawberry flavor includes sugar, dextrose, high fructose corn syrup, and corn syrup within the first six ingredients. They’re all types of harmful sugar. TBHQ is another harmful ingredient that comes from petroleum.

– Cheetos
They’re cheesy snacks that possess Yellow 6 that’s a petroleum-based product. They also contain harmful “cheese” flavoring, like ethyl methylphenidate and methyl benzoate.
