Rupert Clarke, the former Moravian pastor who last year pleaded guilty to having had sex with two sisters under the age of consent, has been sentenced to eight years in prison on each count.
The sentences are to run concurrently, meaning that Clarke will essentially serve a single eight-year term in prison.
The court also ruled that Clarke is to be officially registered as a sex offender.
The sentences were handed down in the St Elizabeth Circuit Court in Black River on Thursday.
Reverend Clarke was arrested on December 28, 2016 by the police in St Elizabeth after he was allegedly seen in a compromising position with a 15-year-old girl in his car along the Austin main road in the parish.
His arrest spring-boarded a number of other allegations and charges of sexual molestation of minors among the male membership of the hierarchy of the Moravian Church in Jamaica, and seemed to have almost been infectiously extended to some ministers of some other religious denominations locally.
After being charged with the offences relating to the Austin incident, charges of a similar nature were laid against Pastor Clarke in relation to another member of the family of the 15-year-old child.
The sentences on Thursday were for those two separate cases main roadof child molestation.
