MAN ON THE RUN AFTER SETTING WOMAN ON FIRE AND BURNING HER TO DEATH ON CHRISTMAS: POMONA, CALIFORNIA

Pomona police are asking for the public’s assistance in finding a man who is suspected of dousing a woman with gasoline and burning her to death on Christmas Day.

The incident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. on Cordova Street. According to neighbors, a 41-year old woman ran from a house that was fully engulfed in flames.

Police say the victim was set on fire by 51-year-old Clarence Duwell Dear with a cigarette and gasoline.

Duwall is on the run and is considered to be dangerous.

He is described as an African American male who is 5′ 10″ and weighs 180 pounds. Duwall has brown eyes and black and gray hair. Authorities are not sure if he fled on foot or in a vehicle.
